Motherboard wont post

Was using the computer and it cut out and now won't post.

I've removed all unnecessary components, hdd, gpu ect.

I've tried with and without the ram, no difference.

Used a different working psu, no difference.

Swapped cpus as well to a known working one, no difference.

So with all of these results it would seem the motherboard was dead.

However the standby power led still comes on when it has power and when you try to power it on the fans move very slightly and the cpu led flashes for a second on the motherboard.


System specs:
MB: Asus sabertooth 990fx
Cpu: and Fx 8350
Ram: 4x4gb corsair vengeance ddr3
Gpu: Asus strix nvidia gtx980
Psu: fsp can't remember the wattage
Hdd: wd black 1tb

well you can always buy a new PSU if thats old already. or borrow from a friend.

Either PSU or MOBO problem I think.
