I'm looking into getting the Universal Audio Volt 1 Audio Interface and I want to know if I can use it on a PC with a GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0) motherboard with no problem. The GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0) uses SB710 Chipset and on the Volt 1 System requirement page, it says that USB controller chips manufactured by AMD aren't recommended:

However the GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0) also uses VIA VL805 chip for USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 backwards compatibility. Can I just getaway by using the USB 3.0 port?

USB2 and USB3 are forward/backward compatible but would both work ai speed of USB2. USB3 just has more wires than USB 1 to USB2 but 4 main ones are same.
