I have been using a multi monitor setup for the past year now and just a few days ago, I sold my GT1030. My main monitor (Dell S2721HN) was connected to the HDMI port of gpu and my second monitor, an old Acer G195HQV connected to the VGA port of my motherboard ( I had enabled Intel HD igpu as well).

It was working well. After I sold it, I used my old gt710 for about 3days and I sold that too today. My old GT710 had a VGA port too so I ran both monitors through my 710. (No Intel hd).

The problem raised when I connected both my monitor to the HDMI and VGA port of my motherboard ( only igpu now, no dgpu ). Windows recognizes my monitor and setups the multi monitor in the settings however I can only see output on my VGA monitor. My HDMI monitor only has a black screen. ( It doesn't even say no HDMI cable). Monitor works fine when I plug it to my laptop HDMI port. Also using a converter, my VGA monitor also shows black screen when connected to the HDMI port.

A broken HDMI port or am I missing something in the software? The HDMI port was working fine a few months ago ( was using my old monitor with an adapter on it) but I did have my other monitor working through a dedicated video card...

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitors:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Did you run DDU to remove all GPU drivers from your platform prior to manually reinstalling the latest driver for your Intel iGPU? Assuming you're on Windows OS that is, since you didn't state much about your system.

Well this is wierd, I tried disabling and re enabling Intel hd graphics in the device manager ( as suggested from dell forums) and it magically worked. It seems like it's a old bug of Intel HD 2500.

I did run DDU in safe mode and restarted. It just turne out to be a driver bug

Glad that you got it sorted out. Though you might want to understand why we ask for specs to your build. It's not waste your/our time but to help bring closure to the person in the same boat as you're in now.

You might want to also consider that your motherboard/motherboard's BIOS might be at fault here.
