Motion blur descreases or increases fps ?

But when you enable motion blur on games, it blurs the image when you move, shoudnt that give you more fps since is not rendering the actual image ?

My understanding of Motion Blur is, it is an special effect applied AFTER rendering the full image. Technically, I don't know, I just assume this. Maybe there are different algorithms for generating Motion Blur effect. Why don't you try it out with your actual hardware and software, if you have the games? If you can't see any fps difference, then the it is probably negligible.

Ok people, we're talking two entirely different things here.

The OP is asking about the Motion Blue effect that is applied in games to give a motion blur effect when the camera is rotated. This is different then the motion blur that occurs due to poor LCD Response Times.

Yes, im talking about the option you have in the graphic settings to enable or disable motion blur.
