[SOLVED] Mounting adapter stuck to fan

I recently unscrewed my CPU fan/heatsink but the mounting adapter is stuck to my heatsink (shown in images). When I try to unscrew it the mounting adapter moves along with the screw and just hits the metal plate and can't move anymore. When I try with it mounted the screw doesn't budge.

there is no fan in your images. only heatsink & mounting plate.
have you uploaded the wrong ones?

Meant heatsink sorry. Fan attaches to heatsink but mounting plate is stuck to the heatsink

try with a pair of needle-nose pliers,
or any pair that has a similar "toothed" edge that can grip the screw head's textured edge.
