mouse cursor shaking and moving by itself

Hi

My mouse cursor keeps shaking constantly on the screen and moving up the page by itself

I have changed the mouse 3 times , trying both PS2 and USB connected ones

Device manager says the device is working properly

I suspect a motherboard issue , as the problem first began when the computer became unresponsive , i rebooted it a few times and the mouse started working again except for this shaking issue

any ideas ?

I did a drug test already and verified the mouse has not used any crack 😉

Do you have the latest drivers for the mobo installed? Are they the correct drivers for the OS (i.e. Windows 7 or Windows 8, 32-bit vs. 64-bit, etc).

Could also be a driver conflict error with something else - do you have any other input devices attached (touch screen, X-Box controller or Game Pad)?
Have you tried testing the mouse/mice on different surfaces? And not just the same old mouse pad, try a nice clean piece of white paper and see if that works. Might be time to get a new mouse surface.

tried using plain paper without mousepad

have checked drivers are unchanged

okay its a mystery

after 3 days of this the cursor just stopped shaking by itself

maybe the ghost in the machine went to sleep .....
