Mouse didn't come with receiver??

Hello guys,

So i bought this mouse on the internet , It's a wireless gaming mouse in the shape of iron man's head. That is the reason I bought it. When I opened the package i noticed there was no receiver.
My question is: Can I just buy any seperate receiver from my local store or are there a couple of things I have to keep in mind? Sorry if this is a noob question.

Many wireless mice have a little hiding place for it under the battery door, did you check there?
