Hi

Mouse doesn't work on motherboard USB ports unless I replug it every time I boot up my PC

I remember that I faced a similar problem a long time ago and tried to do some of the solutions that I had previously done but it didn't work

Some info about the situation:

  • The mouse is Gigabyte GM-M6900
  • The keyboard works normally in all ports
  • The mouse works normally on other PC's
  • Other mouses from different brands work on my PC normally
  • Another mouse from the same brand and model works normally
  • The mouse works normally on the front case USB ports
  • I reinstalled the driver (didn't work)
  • I disabled selective suspend setting (didn't work)
  • I did restore point (didn't work)
  • The mouse doesn't work in the BIOS
  • The mouse also doesn't work in the safe mode
Mobo : ASUS Z390-E
CPU : Intel i9-9900K
GPU : RTX 2080TI 11GB
Ram : 16gb DDR4 3200mhz
Mouse : Gigabyte GM-M6900

Solution
Finally found what caused this.
For unknown reason the mouse won't work from cold boot if ErP enabled on S4+S5 mode (although it was working fine before)

The issue has fixed when I disabled ErP, or set it only on S5 mode

Hope this helps anyone has the same issue

Have you got latest bios for motherboard?

I thought I have the latest bios, but it turns out there is a new one released in November. ver. 2004
I did update and nothing has changed, but.. I got an notification on the desktop that I have to enable Asus services, and as soon as I did that, it magically worked.

I don't know how is that affected the mouse!, but it looks like it's a bug or something ?

Thanks buddy.
