I've just spent £40 on a mouse that feels worse than my £5 supermarket special.

I'm mainly playing Skyrim. I'd like to be able to configure the mouse so that slow movements produces soft responses (for lock-picking, archery etc), and fast movement produces fast response for the general game (movement, looking etc).

At the moment slow movements are stupidly jerky. Has anyone had experience with this mouse (which came endorsed on many websites!!).

I've turned it down to 1000. I don't understand how anyone would want it higher than that. Small movements are impossible without jitter. How can high dpi be a selling point for these things? I've basically paid £40 for two extra buttons that I don't use and a mouse that doesn't feel right (yet) in my hand. 🙁

Man, DPI it's not for gaming purposes. It's one of the best mice for FPS on the market, and I use it at 600dpi only! The great thing about this mouse is the sensor, the weight, the confort and the button desing! When I play Skyrim my Synapse profile have DPI's at 400-600-1200-3400-6400 DPI. I usually use 400 or 600. Only with Bow while aiming i use at 1200 for Dragon killing while flying. I recomend you to set your pooling to 1000hz if you have more than 4Gb of memory. And what's the mouse pad that you're using?

It felt extremely fast but you will get used to it. I'm used to mine now and it feels perfect for any time of game.
