Mouse started leaving trails

So, my computer was up and running, while I was gone at work. It did windows update I had it set to do but now my computer has trails or a tracer. Anywhere I move my mouse trails follow and I never had my mouse function set to do that before. Very disorienting, not sure how to disable this.


Any advice?

goto mouse settings and remove it

(windows 10) In the search bar, type "mouse". Click "mouse settings". In the upper left "Additional mouse options". Next click the middle tab, "Pointer options". Uncheck the box "Display pointer trails". Click apply and you're good to go!

this is so weird. I did not change this though. Is there a combination of key strokes that changes this setting?? it just seems weird that I come home and have tracers on my computer.
