Move everything from desktop while keeping the icons.

Hi there! I have limited space on my system drive (120GB Kingston SSD) but I have a 2TB drive in my PC. As you probably know when you put things on the desktop that takes up space on the drive with the OS. Is there a way that makes it so when I put anything on my desktop it shows up on my desktop but takes up space on my other drive? Is there a way that could make a shortcut for everything at once because after that I could just keep the short cuts on my desktop and move all the files to my 2TB drive. Thanks!

Now...this depends on what you mean by 'move everything'
You can't move your existing applications.
You can move(as above) Doc/Music/video
You can move Steam games

For future application installation, YOU choose where they go. Don't just accept the default.

I think this is what I was trying to explain than you. I'm trying it now. It's gonna take a bit because it's 24GB.
