I have just installed a new 120GB SSD.

I need to move my Windows 7 installation (just the OS) from my 500GB hard drive.

I just want to copy Windows 7 and leave the original HDD alone.

Solution
You can't. Either install fresh, or reduce your original Windows installation to 100gb, and use clonning tools provided. After clonning, reinstall other apps to mechanical drive.
This cannot be done for free. You are looking at a full re-install of the OS and programs. Only a feww apps, steam & origin games would work without being reinstalled.

If you are interested there is a paid app that can do this, Its Paragons Migrate OS to SSD. and its about $20.

Just ended up gritting my teeth and reformatting and reinstalling everything. Would have been easier if I just set out to do that from the beginning. Ended up dealing with MS support over the Windows activation and had the best customer service I have ever gotten. I fell like I need to say, I am not being sarcastic here. They were truly awesome.
