Shoving this into Bablefish results in a slightly different spin than
you put on it.

The German Finance Minister is closing out some tax loopholes in
investment into Ship Funds, Closed Real estate funds and "medium funds"
which is (i'm assuming) where investment into films falls.

Seems to say that investment into something they are pretty sure will
lose money will not be allowed as a tax write off anymore, and that is
certainly going to scupper Uwe getting any more investments from
Germans.

It doesn't in any way imply that Uwe ever got funds from the German
Government though.

You might have seen Mortal Kombat Conquest the TV show which was totally
KICK ASS. I wish they'd made a second season.

The animated one was ok. What other games have been made into
anime/cartoons?
There's a PowerDOLLS anime which I'm pretty sure came after the game.
It's based on the first mission. There are Sonic the Hedgehog, Megaman
and Pac Man cartoons. Was there a Mario one? The Power Team was based on
multiple Nintendo games.

That's right- "Ship" fundings, "Closed Real Estate" Fundings, and "Medium"
fundings.

Also true, although I did mention "investors", which you corrected.

So: "No more tax write-offs for "Uwe Boll, LTD" (or whatever Boll's
incorporated German companys name is) investors that lost money."

Boll obtained this through a tax loophole in German Finance law, I
understand.

But you are right - Germany did not finance his films, per se - just gave
massive capital gains losses tax write-offs to him *and* his investors.

There is something about a "Boll" Fund, though, and its depletion...

Boll's background is banking, finance, and accounting, by the way. I believe
its "Dr." Boll.

And through BabelFish, "Eichel" (as in General Minister of Finance "Hans
Eichel") means "acorn".

Those silly BabelFishes do it to us every time.... 🙂

I don't think it would bother me at all if movies based on video games are
never made again.

My last vestige of "hands off religion" respect disappeared in the smoke and
choking dust of September 11th 2001, followed by the "National Day of
Prayer," when prelates and pastors did their tremulous Martin Luther King
impersonations and urged people of mutually incompatible faiths to hold
hands, united in homage to the very force that caused the problem in the
first place.
