I want to move my dell mb into a new case
its is a Dell Studio xps 8100

Where does the Power Switch Plug In to The MB?
Is there a different controller?

Does the Dell I/O Shield Fit into The New Case?

BTW I'm Going for A CM 690 III

The IO shield does fit a standard Micro ATX compatible shield interface. (in general if the case is ATX it should fit). The power on the board is the 3rd set of pin (the center). It does on the original power connector tap off to the Furthest left pin on the board but I've been using mine without the extra connection for over 2 weeks in a transplant. Be sure though when selecting your case it MUST but Micro ATX compatible due to the fact that Dell did go with a "standard" design but it is a smaller form factor. (In other words do not go get a full size tower and expect it to fit you'd be out of your mind.) The Hard drive light and power lights are a little strange but I just kept mine reversed (I like a big blue led telling me the hard drive is working over a small red one). The Hard drive and power lights are kept in a strange order but Power switch is Center pins meaning up and down then Hard drive LED and Power LED are standard Top 2 (on the right) and bottom two on the right. Keep in mind I've done this but I am not an expert on Dell Transplants. Just follow the cables if you think I'm wrong the entire dell case comes a part so all of the cables can be seen with the effort. Good luck and happy transplanting.
