I am building a new pc and I want to give my brother my old pc. He wants to move all his files to the new pc I am giving him but his drive has windows on it. My pc has window as well but I can clear all the partitions on my drive. How would I go about moving his drive to my pc without any conflicts. Would plugging in his drive in on my pc an issue.

I saw this video and I am still confused of how to go about this.

Merry Christmas! Hopefully someone can help.

Solution
PC A is my current pc giving to brother
PC B is his current pc has os and his files on it
Drive from PC B has os and files he wants to save
PC A has os on it but can be wiped or taken out
My end goal is to have his files on my pc
Moving the B drive to the A PC WILL have issues.

As above...copy the relevant personal files to some other device or location. Just files, not applications.
Full wipe and reinstall the OS in its new location.

Trying to move a drive+OS to a new system has 3 possible outcomes:
1. It works just fine
2. It fails completely
3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.

I've personally seen all 3.

#1 is the least likely to occur.
I think we need a clearer description of what is where, and what you want the end state to be.

PC A has....
PC B has....

PC A should end up with...
PC B should end up with...

But if you're wanting to move a drive+OS to a new system....Full wipe and reinstall, in the system where it will live.

The "files" in question should be first saved off to some other location.
Then, just copy into the relevant location in the new OS.
