Moving a virus to chest

Hi. i recently scanned my pc with avast and it said seven threats were found severity high. i was wondering is it best to move the virus to chest , repair it, or delete it. that's the options i can do. if i click delete, will it get rid rid of the virus. which would u recommend so it goes away from my pc and what does move to chest, repair and delete mean.

To me, "move to chest" means that the virus has settled in for a long stay in your lungs, resulting in runny nose, coughing, and generally miserable feelings. 😉

But in the case of an anti-virus product I think it means that the virus will be moved to a safe "vault" where it can't do any harm. The reason to do this (as opposed to deleting it) is that if for some reason you decide later that the file is necessary for something, you can presumably get it back again.

Repair would mean that the anti-virus software will try to change the file so that the virus is removed from it or disabled. That may or may not be possible depending on the type of file and the virus.

Delete means to delete the file(s) that contain the virus.

My personal tendency would be the "move to chest" option, since it eliminates the virus threat without burning any bridges.

so dude it means that when i delete, only the file gets deleted but not the virus? also u said move to chest is better cause i can delete some wanted file on my pc.
and does move to chest mean that once u uninstall the virus protection, the virus comes back?

The file (executable) is the virus. If you delete the file, you delete the virus.

If you quarantine (keep it in a vault or chest), then you can restore it. This is good because sometimes, some normal file is identify as virus (false-positive).

And why would you want to uninstall virus protection? Keep it.

Viruses live in files. Delete the file --> deletes the virus.
