Moving data from HDD to SSD

Hi guys I bought an SSD and planning to reinstall my Windows 8 from HDD to SSD. Now my question is, since I have games on Program Files (x86) which is goin to be deleted right? Can I just move them to local disk D: then just format the C: (where my OS is), Plug the SSD, install new OS on the SSD and just move some of my games from D: to SSD ???

Or you could just clone the HDD to the SSD and not bother setting everything back up.

Data migration software which is commonly referred to as cloning software usually works reasonably well. However, sometimes problems develop.

A fresh clean install is the preferred method.

okay I guess I'll go for clean install, and is it safe to move around games that are installed on Program Files (x86)?
