Moving files from SSD to HDD?

I have a 500GB SSD and a 1TB HDD on my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 700), running the latest version of Windows 10. All of my programs are saved to the SSD, but the drive is now almost full. Can I move the programs to the HDD, and if not, how else could I free up space on the SSD?

While I say 500GB and 1TB, that's the storage the laptop was sold as having - but my system is telling me that in fact the drives are only 119GB and 931GB respectively.

Any advice hugely appreciated!

Disk Management, not File Explorer.

Anyway...you do indeed appear to have a 128GB SSD, not a 500GB.

For moving stuff? You can't move "programs".
You CAN move your static data. Video/Doc/Music/Pics.

But let's investigate first.
Install and run WinDirStat
Run As Administrator, and select only the C drive.
Post a screencap here, along with a screencap of your Disk Management window.

Ahah! Thank you.

It's not a game (I don't have any installed), but the .big files are all instrument samples for my music notation software. That should be fairly straightforward to reinstall.

There ya go.
35+GB space reclaimed.

That's why things like WinDirStat are good tools. Once you can see and compare where your space is being sucked up, it is easy to figure out what to do.

No, clearly not. It's always possible I remembered incorrectly, but I think this requires some investigating.

However, many thanks for your help. It was very kind of you, and hugely useful!
