Hi guys! I have a very simple question but since I am not very good with hardware here's the thing - I want to move my HDD from my old computer to my new one. Is there anything special that I need to know? Also, if you need some more specifications just ask 😀 .

I don't need to keep the data. I only want it as an extra space on my new PC

OK, if you don't expect it to boot your new PC and don't need the data, then it should be pretty simple. Build your new PC, install the OS WITHOUT this disk connected. When the OS is done updating and all the drivers are installed, then power off and connect this disk. Go into disk management and wipe all the partitions. Then create a single partition, format it and assign a drive letter.

Sounds simple enough.. Except for the part where I have no idea what a "partition" is and how to wipe it, format it and assign a new one 😀 (I probably should've mentioned that I am not that good with these kind of stuff). Also, does it matter if the old HDD has a windows on it?

Yes it is the only HDD on my old PC. And yes, it does have Windows 7 on it. I just want to know what to do in case I decide to get some extra space on my new PC. Thanks for the link BTW, I learnt a lot from it :)
