I am replacing my old ACER Windows 10 laptop with a new laptop. My olc ACER has a single SSD that I installed a year ago. Can i just install that into the new machine and boot from there?

No.

If it even boots, Windows will recognize it's in a different system and likely deactivate.

And even if it does work, there will be plenty of driver conflicts that will cause your system to be unstable.

Your best plan is to do a fresh Windows installation.

hahahaha...No.

Moving a drive with OS between systems is often a complete fail.
With laptops, even more likely probability of fail.

no.
the hardware will be too different and will give windows a conniption fit, if the off chance it does boot up it will be error prone and unstable.
I would backup the data on the SSD, replace the drive, and reinstall windows.
All this assumes that the new laptop can fit the old SSD.
