I have my gaming computer in our entertainment room but it gets loud as hell when my dads watching tv or guests are in the entertainment room so i wanted to move my compute into my room! but here's the problem! i can move my router but the thing is that there is like a cable or like a thick ass wire coming in from the wall. the cable is connected to a part of the router labled "CABLE". its like a screw where you like twist it side ways in the router. so when its connected to my router & whenever i shut off the router, the tv disconnects and loses connection too! so im guessing that affects the tv. does it?

how will i move my router?
and i really dont want like physical things involved like the atnt guy doing things with the wall or anything or getting a wireless adapter

Solution
From your description, it sounds like you have FiOS service. In which case, yes, the TV function is dependent on the router. The router and STB (DVR channel changer thing) work in conjunction.

So yes, the router has to be ON for the TV to work.

So you want to move your PC to another room. You have a few options:
1. A long ethernet cable from the router to your room

2. Powerline Ethernet. An adapter plugs into the wall near the router. Short cable from the router to this adapter. Another adapter plugs into the wall in your room. Another ethernet cable from that to your PC. The signal is magically transported through the house wires from the router to your PC.

3. WiFi

Solution

i have a at&t uverse internet and a tv service. mydad says like the cable is like an antenna...

OK...no specific experience with AT&T Uverse, but...

You best option is to simply run an ethernet cable from the router to where you want your PC.
Second best, is Powerline Ethernet.
Third best is WiFi.

Move the router and you'll have many, many more issues.
Whose router is it? Yours, or dads? (i.e. who pay the bill?)

my dad pays it. and using an ethernet cable would be too long and would look messy since its going from the etertainment room to my room. and the
powerline ethernet is expensive!

Well...as said. The router needs to live next to the TV.

Your options are:
Long ethernet cable to your room
Powerline Ethernet
WiFi
Live with it as it is now

Them's the options...
