All alone? Dude, what?

Audi TT
Sony PlayStation 3
Microsoft Windows
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Google Chrome
Mozilla Firefox

Chrome is developed by Google.

Firefox is developed by Mozilla.

Opera... well, it's developed by "Opera Software ASA", a Norwegian company. For some products (even if they're free) there's more branding involved than for others. You don't say "Google Android", "Apple iPod Touch" or "Anheuser-Busch Budweiser", do you?

People saying they use Mozilla is like saying that they use Microsoft on their computers or drink Anheuser-Busch (instead of Budweiser). You get the point. Firefox isn't alone.

But hey, if Google were to purchase Mozilla tomorrow we would have Gogzilla. Much simpler to remember than Mozarella (which is a type of cheese).

[citation][nom]Anomalyx[/nom]Similar? I think you meant to say "exact same". I'm pretty sure it's the same developer even.[/citation]

Actually, Adblock Plus on firefox is much more effective at blocking video ads (The only ads I really hate besides the ones that intrude on web pages) than Adblock Plus on chrome. But yes, the developer is the same.

Adblock+ on firefox is much more effective at blocking video stream ads, this is why I use firefox most of the time, only occasionally using chrome.

i switched to opera a few months ago because firefox was having trouble with this website even in the betas and a few other sites i go to. although now opera is having issues with facebook so i may eventually switch over to chrome

[citation][nom]egmccann[/nom]... too difficult to set up?I seem to recall my experience being "Download. Install. Next, next, next, done." Perhaps they need to drop a "Next" from it? Honestly, I don't see most (average) users going from Chrome -> Firefox. It's still mostly IE they're moving from.Frankly, I think Mozilla's biggest problem is getting people to pronounce their name correctly. I talk to people all day who mention they're running Mozarella, Foxfire, Flamefox and other interesting variations.[/citation]
Aaah Mozzarella Foxfire... I've heard that one before...

Fix the memory leak issue finally and maybe I will switch back to FF

All they need to do to be successful is strip firefox of all the firefox stuff ... as in make it a basic browser with support for all homepages. Give it an ad blocker and a translation service, and done. Nothing else needed.
Basically a 'hello world' windows mfc with an address bar. People don't care if it is gpu accellerated or has a hundred wierd addons. They just want it to work and not ask questions all the time.

Aside from the obvious facts like plastering advertisement of your browser everywhere in ads (like we saw in 2006 against IE) and having Firefox become the official endorsed browser of sites, I can see other ways Mozilla can convert users:

- as mentioned the bookmark importing is a huge plus to have. I would never consider moving my hundreds of bookmarks to another browser manually.
- preach the fact that Mozilla is not affiliated with Google and hence free from the prying eyes of Google with regards to everything you type into the browser.
- make it faster to start up. I mean IE9/Chrome fast.

After Firefox version after 3.1 all hell broke loose, had to finally switch to crome and I hate it it has its own issues and will never go back to IE it costs a fortune in security software and IT support to use IE
Firefox used to be the best, most stable and safe browser out there used it for almost 5 years on 20 plus networked pc's with no issues until the weekly version updates. Find the cone heads that started all the updates and "HANG EM HIGH". Amazingly Firefox runs problem free on Mac's as well as everything else in the computer world. I be investing in 20 new networked Mac's very soon I have a business to run tired of all the Windows PC money sucking techno bull crap. Thanks for the built-in productivity Steve Jobs! MAC,s for ever!
