the name of the thread is the model number on the mother board i need a CPU for plain and simple. I would like to find a CPU preferably duel core that will work in this motherboard, the thing is on the specs for this motherboard don't say anything about duel cores however i am pretty sure i read that it can be done. Basically i would like to know if anyone has seen or knows what the best CPU i can pop in a (HP a1130n) MS 7093 ver .120. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What processor did you end up going with? Did you just install the latest update for the MSI MS-7093 off their web site? I'd like to upgrade My HP Pavilion a1130n BIOS to this newer version as well if possible. I am currently running 3.47 3/3/2006 on my MS-7093 rev. 120 board.

I see this is likely the MSI RS480M2 based on the MSI link above. It looks like their latest BIOS revision 3.9 (7093v39.zip build date 2006-02-13) has an older build date than the version from HP 3.47 (2006-03-03). The MSI release notes make no mention of the fixes integrated into the HP build...

MSI 3.9 release notes (http://www.msi.com/product/mb/RS480M2.html#/?div=BIOS):
- Update CPU ID.
- Support RX1300Pro VGA card.
- Support Winbond W39V040BPZ Flash ROM

HP 3.47 release notes (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-39427-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en):
- Resolves compatibility issue with Audigy 2 ZS audio card.
- Resolves issue with resuming from hibernation.
- Resolves occasional restart issue.
- Improves system stability.

Nor do I see the HP fixes in earlier MSI release notes. The version numbers don't line up either. i.e. there is no 3.47 on MSI's web site but there is a 3.4 and a 3.5. I might just stick with the HP BIOS.
