Hello all.

My first post here so here goes...

A few days ago I added a second MSI 1070 GAMING X card to make my games run maxed out at 4k and get respectable FPS. Well I've just done that but one problem.. Overclocking... It seems the second card's core wont OC very much. Like my first 1070 will OC to +160 core and +700 on mem. But the second card's core will only achieve sub +100, the memory will oc to +700 as well like my first card, just the core!

At first I thought it was a PSU issue (running 750w) so I tested both cards individually and found that my second card's core will only achieve around +100. Even though the cards are identical could they achieve different OC's? I also noticed the new card uses Micron memory chips instead of Samsung like my other one has. This doesnt seem to effect OC potential as they both clock to +700 on memory quite easily!

Any ideas as to why my second card's core wont OC very much? Cheers guys

with processors/gpus it's always luck of the draw. All chips will OC differently. You can throw more power at it and see if you can get it up there but the limit is the limit.

Thats a real shame becuase these cards normally clock very high. Hmm, reckon I rma it?
