My GPU will not be detected by the motherboard, i have updated the bios and tried to download the drivers but nothing helps. The GPU lights up and the fans are spinning. I tried a different GPU in to check the the pcie was working and that one showed up. I have run out of ideas for why this wont work. anyone got any?

MOBO:ASUS P8H61-MX R2.0
RAM: 4GB
CPU: intel i5 3.1 gHz
Storage: SSD 215 GB

Did you try a different PCI-E slot if you have one, and also did you make sure the PCI 6 pin was connected all the way?, i'm sorry if you've already done those, only last thing i can think of is check the bottom of the card and see if there is any form of damage.

I only have one pci-e slot so i cant change that and both the 6 pins are pushed in fully. I got the graphics card from a friend so i know it works and i cant see any damage

The GPU was nvidia geforce 9600 gt and the PSU is 500 W. I didnt run DDU before ill try that now

Let me know if it still persists, and is it no signal when ever you plug in your monitor or can you load up to windows but under dxdiag or device manager there is no card?, if there is no card under dxdiag, try to go itn odevice manager, and if thereis a caution symbol next to the card, view properties and tell me the error it says.

I uninstalled the old drivers but it still does not come up, it is not come up on device manager of on dxdiag. The monitor only comes on when plugged in though the motherboard, it doesnt come on plugged in though the GPU.

Hi sorry for the late reply, i took some photos but there does not seem to be any way to attach them to the thread
