Hi, i have an old MSI-6168 motherboard with integrated voodoo3 2000 tv, as it is now so old and is a rare (i think) 3dfx chipset i was wondering if it has any value to a collector maybe?? I found it in an old packard bell system and de-dusted it and tested in good working condition, it has the fastest pentium 3 the board supports in it (550mhz slot1)....any info will be appreciated 😀

it might fetch you about $5 or $10,thats it.pentium 3's arent old enough to demand a high value, and they arent new enough to be fast enough to do anything, use it or scrap it out i would suggest.

Have a look at eBay: collector computers have little value, even from the 486 era.

But if you keep your hardware and put Win Me +Office97 on it, with a 7200rpm disk, it will be extremely comfortable for document processing. Far better than any Seven on modern hardware. And WinMe can run your old Ms-Dos games.

ignoring the kids who were breast feeding back when the socket 370 came out...

the slot1 also ran with the 440bx chips, that was a bad freakin memory..just scrap it. It even fed the dot crash bang boom..

what you have may be some firsts still here today however...

the 82801?
ECC capable?
I cannot find facts for it, not even at msi archives..

I kept a socket 370 for reasons you are wondering, and has the 82801 form the year 2001..the market can babble the defintions of what is working, but they cannot change the truth of history that had it long running already...

it may be a keeper, it may not. MSI did via chips too, and those sucked as bad as the 440...
