So i have been searching for an answer for this for about 2 weeks now. But anyways, I built my computer back in July with an msi 970 gaming MB. It was working perfectly fine, then all of the sudden the ethernet port stops working on Christmas day. I went to install my new water cooler (Corsair h100i v2) and when I turn it back on, the ethernet isnt working. It did that all Christmas, so eventually I reset my computer, and it was working. The next day I woke up and saw that ethernet wasnt detected. I have been using a wireless adapter for the past 2 weeks, which is awful for anything. I play csgo a lot and I literally am jumping across the map, not able to shoot anything. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers. I have done a whole lot, but it still doesnt seem to work. I have done almost everything that I have seen on the internet, but still nothing. I know its not a flawed motherboard because it was working when I reset my computer. I didnt do anything to it when it stopped working the second time. I just had it running over night because I forgot to turn it off. Any suggestions would be great!

Few things I need to know if you have tried. Have you looked for any BIOS update (which can include NIC firmware)? Have you replaced the cable, I know it sounds stupid but I have seen some odd things happen with a flaky cable.
