Do I really need this much voltage get a 4.5 overclock? 1.480V
I'm running prime 95 and this seems to be the longest it lasted without my computer shutting down on me.
Also my cores keep shutting off on me on prime95, why are they doing that?

Solution
The MSI 970 Gaming mobo is known for it's poor overclocking capabilities, beeing too hard to get a stable overclock. It also has an issue with it's VRM's that if your vCore get's way too High, they could simply fry and you would need to buy another mobo.

1) Cores shutting down on Prime95 means your overclock is not stable. The longer you manage to run Prime95, expecially on Blend, the better. For a 99.9% stable overclock, you might have to make your 8350 run abount 48hrs without any core shutting down.

2) Your computer shutting down is either because your overclock is extremely unstable or due to excessive heat
I've had my 8350 at 4.6Ghz on 1.42v to run prime95 on Blend for 3 days non-stop, without any errors or whatsoever.
