Msi 980 Ti Gaming 6G Out of Box Problem

I just received my MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G in my mail and I opened it up. Everything looks fine, but when I looked at the PCI-E connector part of the gold thingy was missing on both sides. Is this a problem? Will if effect performance? Once my build is together, I plan on ocing this to maybe 1500 mhz. Thanks and here are some pics of the connector.

Do you see the chip in the gold part of the connector near the corner? Those golden skinny rectangles.

Still looks normal. Don't know why they are like that but don't think its anything unusual.
