MSI a78m-e45 3 beeps continuously when booted up, no screen image

I have an MSI a78m-e45 mobo for my first computer build. After installing the CPU and RAM, I attempted a test bench. What I received was 3 beeps and no image on the monitor. I then removed the RAM after I realized that the mobo doesn't take ecc ram and that's what I bought. Again, I tried a test bench to the same results. The power supply I use is an antec 450 watt. Please help, I don't want to return anything.

3 beeps on AMI BIOS = bad RAM.

1 long plus 2 short beeps on Award BIOS = Monitor or display card error.

Hello,

So if your motherboard has the same behaviour with or without RAM, it means the RAM is not compatible with your motherboard. Go only for non-ECC, unbuffered RAM. The only AMD processors which can use the ECC RAM are Opterons, but there is no Opteron for the FM socket.
