Hello guys. I was wondering if it's good to set the afterburner fan speed to run all the time (auto mode) or just using it when i play games and stuff. The last time i checked the temperatures of my gpu (R9 380 Nitro 4gb) i was having 70º in games and like 50-55 in idle so far... With the afterburner fan speed, now i have 38-40º at 45% fan speed idle and like 49-50º on games or maybe a little more, up to 61º or so. i will not have any trouble with the fan's of my gpu in the future if i left the auto mode on all the time?

You could even lower those fan speeds if you want to reduce noise. Graphics card temps can typically go into the 80s and even the 90s (though I recommend against it). But you could create a custom fan curve that will set you at about 70C while gaming and you'll be just fine.

The noise is not a problem for me because im using headphones all the time. The question is: if it's ok the gpu fan's run all the time, that not will affect the efficiency of the fan's in the future? and yeah, i will try to set up my own personal fan curve as you said.

Auto usually does the job well.

Radeon R9 200 and 300 series can go up to 95C and are deemed safe by AMD. However i would set the max temperature at 87C.

Oh ok. Is this a good custom fan curve?

Honestly, i would put it at 0% until it hits 50C

Make another checkpoint and drag that to 100% fan speed when it is 90C.

You don't want it goint higher than that.

After that your fan profile should be good to go. Overclock your GPU using the safe gpu guide on the bottom right of this reply.
