MSI B150 and ECC?

So, as very few will know, I have been doing a lot of research on freenas and doing a diy home nas as cheaply as possible. In my research I came across the MSI B150-Pro VD motherboard which claims to support ECC unbuffered memory. My question, has anyone confirmed that this works, because if it does I have found the cheapest skylake motherboard that supports ECC memory?

MSI's product page under ''Main memory'' says:

• Supports ECC, un-buffered memory
• ECC UDIMM memory (non-ECC mode) (??)

What happens when you run ECC UDIMM in Non-ECC then?

It mean you paid the price for ECC memory but the[strike] mobo won't use the ECC[/strike]CPU don't support ECC mode

If I understand this correctly, if the cpu supports ECC then the board let's you actually use ECC, but if the cpu doesn't support ECC then the memory runs in non-ECC mode. But can anyone confirm as a primary source that running a xeon, pentium, or i3 on this motherboard with ECC RAM works?

only non-xeon support. and non-xeon don't support ecc memory

The i3 6100 and the G4400 support ECC memory. Hypothetically a system with the MoBo, a g4400, and ecc memory would work.
