The motherboard is the MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

So I've had my PC for a few years now and I just got RGB fans for it, but here is the thing. The motherboard is supposed to have lights on it too. From 2019 to now I have never seen the lights on the motherboard. I tried downloading different software like Mystic Light on MSI Center, it shows the lights on the motherboard as if I can control them, but they don’t actually show up in reality. What can the issue be in how can I fix this? The lights show up on the Fans, the RAM, and the GPU, just the there motherboard itself.

Update:

Here are all my parts:

I'm expecting the lights to work like in the pic here:

Also, here is someone else's build on PC Part Picker with the lights working:

Here is a post of someone having the same issue, but I never found out how things got resolved:

I built my PC back in 2019, I never complained about the lights not working until now because I'm starting to add RGB stuff and I just upgraded to Windows 11. So because of all these upgrades, I'm noticing that some things are not working the way it supposed to work and have never worked. But I never really tried to get it to work until now.

Also, when using software like MSI Center it shows me the lights and lets me change them in the software as if they are working.. but it's not. This means the software knows that it's there and thinks it's actually controlling it, but nothing is actually happening.

Regarding:

"The motherboard is supposed to have lights on it too."

What specific lights are you expecting and why?

Reference?

More information needed.

Update your post to include full system specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Lastly: what RGB fans? Make, model, etc.....?

This motherboard?

https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7B85v1.2.pdf

Do verify that I found the correct manual.

Start by reading through the manual and doublechecking all connections and configuration settings.

Read carefully and pay attention to all the fine print and warnings.

Pages 20 and 21 list the LED (Mystic Light) and RGB features and limits.

Pages 40 and 41 provide information about RGB components and connections.

Immediate objective being to understand what the motherboard actually supports and ensure that all is connected and configured correctly.

Hopefully just some error of omission or commission.

Thank you. Yes, I confirm that you have the correct manual. To my understanding the problem is not that I have to connect anything to the motherboard, the problem is the lights on the motherboard itself seem like they are not working. I was hoping that there's a switch I can flip or something that I can do in the bios.

I would not expect a switch.

Something via BIOS perhaps - maybe a newer version is needed.

About all you can do is read the Manual's BIOS Chapter and search through the settings. Check BIOS date.

Does the motherboard actually have LEDs that you can see?

Could be some "best case"/"suggested servings" being shown on the box and image.....
