Hi, I've been trying to update my bios and I've been downloading the bios file from the msi website (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/b450-tomahawk-max ) and have extracted it and put it on a usb (fat32) just in the main directory and have ejected it and tried to go into the bios to update it and when I try to locate the bios file nothing appears, it has found the usb stick and other files in the usb but just doesn't show the bios file. Any ideas why?

Thanks :)

Solution
Bios checks and validates the file before flashing so that part is sorted. Only risk is if you get a power blackout during flash. Flashing only takes about a minute.

Does Mflash still require renaming to msi.rom? Thought that was only for flashback. If it requires renaming that might be why. Otherwise, it's the wrong board and Mflash is ignoring the file as a protective measure.
Not using Mflash.
Love the red warning.

Did you rename the file?

I would also question why your trying to update it. Never update just because their a new version only update if it addresses a specific problem your having.
I didn't rename the file, I wasn't aware I needed to. And the issue I'm having is that my gpu has a low usage % whilst I'm getting no cpu bottleneck on Assassins Creed Odyssey. I've tried a lot of different things to solve it and found someone that said updating their motherboard bios fixed it so I thought I'd give it a shot.
