Question MSI B450M motherboard

So I have a Bose headphone with a built-in mic on the side. And I bought a splitter to use for my front panel of my cpu: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B073ZDDTH2/ref=psdcmw_2267280011_t3_B01I3A47KM
I can not talk on it, as it doesn't detects it? Can anyone assist me on what's the issue is?

it kinda worked, now i cant hear sounds. since my headphone audio jack is one piece with mic and sound

I'm not sure how to explain this, my bose headphones with one 1 wire one output and one input. So, one output for PC and one input to plug to the headphones(since its wireless) itself. I bought that splitter, and im only getting sound but my voice does not work. But I just tried putting my bose wire into the front/back into the mic section. I can talk but not hear anyone as it shows as unplugged.

I have a Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha headset. Sounds like the same setup. Y cable from the mic and headphone jacks on the PC onto a single 3.5mm plug. Then there's a single cable that runs from that into the headphones (mine it's the left cup). Then the headphone splits the mic signal out to a plug in the left cup where the removable mic plugs into.

Does that match your headphones?

Sounds like you can get sound OR mic, but not both?

Hopefully this works then, I'm not sure what the heck is going on...
