I recently (today) built a new PC. Containing these parts:

Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

CPU FAN: Noctua NH-D15

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 (will soon be replaced as soon as my RTX 3080 arrives)

RAM: 16GB corsair Vengeance LPX (3200Mhz)

PSU: Corsair RM850

So I have installed the CPU, GPU, RAM - everything - and when I press the start button. Nothing happens! So we've tried it all. re-check the cables (no problem), even re-seat the motherboard in the case. I did read up that you have to update the bios through flash bios (I have a USB stick with the latest bios available) and when I tried it - the bios flash LED did light up, start to blink & then after a few seconds it shut off (which made me think it was done) but apparently it should at least blink for a few minutes, right?

So I need help ASAP. I have no idea what to do!!

Though, to my knowledge, B550 chipset supports Ryzen 5000 series off the bat and you don't need to update the BIOS.

If you would have B450 chipset MoBo, then yes, BIOS update is needed.
That being said, what you describe sounds a lot like DOA MoBo. Here, the best option is to RMA your MoBo.
