Holy cow, that thing is beautiful. Hell. I'll upgrade to THIS just for aesthetic reasons. Even if the price ain't right! EK's components are gorgeous. My pc is all black, so this baby is absolutely perfect. And my pc is full of MSI parts. Might as well keep going.

Yeah I'm looking at getting the EK waterblock for my Gigabyte G1 and then doing a full CPU - GPU loop. EK definitely knows what they are doing.

1. If pursuing increased performance (that is fps), water cooling is not going to get you anywhere with an AIB 10xx series GFX card. Water cooling can improve performance in 2 ways:

a) Stop the GPU from reaching temps that would initiate GPU throttling.
b) Allow increased voltages by keeping GPU, VRM and memory below temps which would introduce instabilities / throttling.

The 10xx series AIB air cooled cards show no evidence of either of the above.

2. I certainly understand adding water cooling to reduce noise however. But lets look at the logic here. We have the ED Predator 240 on the market designed to handle say a 130 watt overclocked Haswell / Devils Canyon / Skylake CPU and we are going to pair that with an EK Predator 120 to handle a 200 watt (say 220 watts overclocked) ? ... that's 50% of the radiator to handle 170% of the load.

3. I really don't see this product as anyone who would consider this product would already have their CPU water cooled. EK / MSI already offer the MSI 1080 EK X with a full cover water block. EK already offers the Predator 360. An EK Predator 360 + the MSI 1080 EK X is a far better / cheaper / less cluttered solution. And it's not as if it's all that complicated an installation. You can even buy the Ek Waterblock prefilled

For the hands off type, you can even buy prefilled EK water blocks for any cards

hahaha I thought that would be funny. Just to get back on topic that seller would probably get you a Deal for the MSI 30th Annual for $2000. DEALS#1 Pfft

I thought Asetek had AIO coolers patented too. They just recently won a lawsuit with CoolerMaster for infringement. Maybe Asetek gets a little pay from this card too.

Is that a reservoir and pump on the side of that rad?

Asetek patent trolled to get the "pump on water block" design even tho it had been done by others long before. Swiftech countered with the pump on rad design which EK emulated.

Also, unlike Asetek, EK doesn't use cheap aluminum radiators and is not a restrictive "closed loop" system.

different address. if you use the address from the States, it'll show the Amazon.com item with USD$, if you use a Canadian addy, it'll show the Amazon.ca with CDN$. Just change the Amazon.com to Amazon.ca after going to the first page. Its USD$679.99 and CDN$1610.17 both depending on country, but is listed as the exact same item number

So pump on the block. I see.

You know what? I'm not sure that thing would even fit in the back my case with the extra length added to the side of the 120mm Rad from the Pump (177mm). There's no room on the sides because of Motherboard and Case. Bottom is Slots and if you have an upper Rad like me your hooped. Unless you mounting on the bottom fan intake. It would be difficult to do because the PSU cable. I don't think that would be possible. This is with a Mid Tower, Full tower could be a different story.

@littleleo I'm seeing $1600 bucks and some change

Shouldn't be an issue. That rad isn't much larger than a h80i p/p so should mount just fine on most rear exhaust ports, even in mid ATX cases. Of course this'll mess up most ppl if they are needing that port already for an aio, but my h55 is mounted to the rear top fan port of my CM 690 II, so it wouldn't be an issue for me at rear exhaust.

One thing does make me wonder though is the price. At $679 it's cheaper than the Gaming X8, so just what pcb etc is it using? Is it a gaming X8 pcb with an EKWB? Or a cheapo reference with MSI branding. I just find it strange that such a limited edition would be actually cheaper than the standard top of the line card

The colors (or lack of) mean it can match almost any build's color scheme.

The fan on the rad is nice because it can be easily replaced, although something tells me it will likely outlast the radiator itself.

That makes sense I wonder what the exchange rate between USD and the CDN. Okay I checked and the $679.99 US Dollar equals$ 897.79 Canadian Dollars, so there is a big price difference between the different Amazons $879.79 vs $1610.17 both in CDN.

If I understand correctly, you are asking AmazonUS to ship to Canada ? And who pays the import duty / taxes ? No different than trying to smuggle across border.

No, EK (and Swiftech) puts pump on the radiator.

Again, same thing ... just measure.

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/EK-IM/EK-IM-3831109863350.pdf

EK 240 predator (See page 4) is 295mm L x 133mm W x 68mm H. Not sure where 177 coming from

I can't see it being an issue in most mid towers tho it may prevent you from using top 5.25" bay. Of course if case is an older or budget design that doesn't account for water cooling, you may have an issue with MoBo heat sinks. Most modern case designs allow for an offset ... even on ITX designs

No I meant pump on block is Patented by Asetek.

I got the 177mm from the dimensions here "Dimensions Radiator 177 x 133 x 68 mm"

at the end of the article.

I just don't have an extra 57mm to spare. Plus it's almost 7 cm thick getting in the way of the upper Rad if I were to mount it in the back. It would be new case for me to consider this. Adding to the cost.

Just gotta somehow convince the wife that it's a great investment and eat at the food bank so it doesn't disrupt finances and we are good to go :)
