[citation][nom]mister g[/nom]Like an article before, I have to say a non-cut down versionof Fermi is not worth the wait. If you want want to wait go ahead I'm going to grab a Radeon HD 6970 and see if its the single gpu king.[/citation]
So, basically. Having never seen a bench on either, and having not even seen official specs on the new nvidia card (which I'm still skeptical it will be out this year) you've made a decision. Either you're a real amd fanboy or you're just excited and making rash decisions.

It will be. 30% expected performance boost over 5870 means it can be beyond GTX480s limits. Then it will overclock. Remember, this is an overclocked GTX480 we are talking about.

Sounds quite gimmicky to me ala Monster Cables. Everything they talk about from multi-phase PWM and high quality MOSFETs just provide cleaner power. The chip is designed by default anyways to handle variations such that improvements don't matter all that much.

And the score was done on LN2...who cares if it can't be done in the real world.

[citation][nom]thlillyr[/nom]I seem to remember huge artical hyping up that toms overclocked a graphics card to 1 ghz for the first time ever. Somthing along those lines it was about a year agon i think. And here we have a graphics card a 1.4 ghz out of the box! Am i reading that correctly? Cause if it is THATS FRIGGING AWSOME AND I"M SOO GETTING ONE! Or if my wife says no then I"M SOO GETTING A GTX 580 when it comes out.[/citation]

*sixs months later

"Reporter say that the house caught on fire because these two adults left there gtx 480 and 580 on while running their Minecraft server. Nvidia has provided no comment."

man i hope i can hook that thing up to my car.....maybe then i can reach mars and check out for myself if there are any hot chicks up there....... hmmm.... now lets see....
the only thing i need now is a space suit... preferably one which can withstand the radiation on mars surface....

maybe then i will get it...... until then ....Electricity is damn expensive in my city....no thank you.....gimme something that doesnt need a nuclear reactor to run

[citation][nom]pinkfloydminnesota[/nom]Benchmarks shouldn't count unless you can play a full game start to finish at the speed stated.[/citation]

+100 to pinkfloydminnesota
I agree completely. If you can't complete, you are disqualified.

yes but diffrent gpu architechtures have nothing to compare about core clocks. stable benchmarks are the way you can compare cards...
