So I am trying to help my friend over discord with his first PC build. The problem he is having is that he can't get any sort of output, he has tried multiple monitors, multiple cables, and tried both motherboard and graphic outputs. I asked what the debug codes are on the motherboard and he says there is not LED code showing at all. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be, sounds like it could be a dead board.

Yeah sorry, the fans spin as normal case and cpu, also a red light up the left hand side of the motherboard.

by the red light I guess you mean the audio. Unplug the 8 and 24 pin motherboard power connectors, remove the motherboard battery for about 5 minutes then reinstall it. remove the video card, unplug the hard drive/s, remove 1 stick of memory. Plug the monitor into the back of the motherboard reconnect the 8 and 24 pin power connectors and try it. nothing move the memory down a slot and try till all 4 slots have been tried. Remove that stick of memory and try the same thing with the other stick. nothing then try a different power supply if possible. still nothing then remove the CPU and look for bent pins. If you have verified it's not a power supply problem then RMA the board. It is possible you have a bad power supply that's why I stressed to try another one or try that one with another PC.

Thanks for the reply I am getting him to try all the solutions now, only one he can't is a different power supply as he only has the one. My main worry is the fact there is no debug code at all just blank, I would expect some kind of code to be there to help with issues.

Yeah the fact its actually supplying some sort of power kind of makes me think its fine but always a chance. Getting him to test all the things you suggested I'll get back once he has.

Well he did all everything you said an still no luck, motherboard is getting power but no display, the fact no debug numbers are showing at all makes me think it is the mobo that is dead unless you have any other suggestions.

Thanks for the reply I will get him to go through every you mention in the link, it's a pain not being there to help as this is his first PC and doesn't have much knowledge on these sort of things.

well, try this
remove everything, clean CMOS
and put the cpu back, "one" memory on memory slot 2
DONT put on the graphic card, connect the port, and try if the screen show up.

but anyway, if you can figure out the issue, just sent the motherboard back to MSI, they will find and test for you.
