hi i have an issue whenever i overclock my msi 980ti it always seems to downclock
i have it running 1505mhz in firestrike with kboost on yet it always downclocks to 1455mhz during the benchmark
is there any way to stop this from happening
power limit is set to the max of 109%
thanks in advance

I may be wrong but I believe even the first BIOS on the kingpin is custom, that may be why it doesn't have the issue. Have you tried using KBoost in EVGA Precision? This forces the clocks to run at max, I'm not sure if it stops the "downboosting" but it may be worth a try. Be careful with this setting though and make sure to close any other program like MSI Afterburner as they will most likely interfere with each other.

What percentage is your fan running at? If possible, ramp it up and see if the core clock stays up.

I guess the only choices are a custom bios (this may or may not help), I wouldn't recommend doing this as you can brick the card and the other choice is to learn to ignore it 🙁

Shame really . really holds the card back in terms of overclocking which is a big letdown for me really as i bought 2 of these things.
will see if i can send them back and swap them for 2 others

I think I'm lucky, mine only drops my 15Mhz I believe, but then again it's a 980, not ti so it doesn't get as hot.
