About half a year ago, my laptop can play a lot of heavy games like GTA V, Ghost Recon Wildland, Rise of Tomb Raider,... without a lag or fps drop. After sometime, it start to slow down, i thought it was because of things that i download from the internet so i reset the laptop completely. Now i tried it again but the gaming performance is terrible, fps drop every 2 minutes and the gameplay itself is laggy
My Laptop Processor :+ Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750 CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
+16Gb RAM
+GeForce GTX 1060
Is there something i need to download for this laptop to be like old time ? because i got this laptop from my dad a year ago
Thanks for reading and replying, i need all the help i can get

Solution
I'm using the dragon center app to activate gaming mode which activate the fan (its really loud on cooler boost mode). Despite that the laptop gets hotter the longer this setting on but it helps the game a little bit... not to the point i need it to be though. Do i need to open the whole laptop to dust out the dust ? (Sorry for my bad English)

It's hard to know what you will need to do to clean the fans on your laptop as it is different for each model. Some laptops have removable panels above the fans which makes them easy to clean. Other laptops (e.g. Dell machines) have the fans totally covered so you have to unscrew most of the laptop to get to them- I would suggest looking for a 'teardown' video on youtube for your...

It's probably a cooling problem- over time the cooling fans in laptops get clogged up with dust, this stops them cooling the cpu / gpu properly and the thing will heat up then drop clock speed to keep the temps in check. Have you tried running a temp monitor whilst gaming / do you hear the fans ramp up more than they used to?

If activating the gaming mode helps (and the fact the fans get loud) it does sound like the problem is the coolers are clogged up- that would explain why it used to work ok but doesn't now. Once you get to the fans cleaning them is quite easy- the fan should unscrew from the heatsink (I would recommend keeping the heatsink in place), then you can use a spare toothbrush to clean out dust from between the cooling fins so more air can get through.
