msi gd65 z87 wont POST

Hey I just bought the motherboard the other day and I haven't been able to get it to post. The LED error that it gives me is "15". The manual says that its because the northbridge boots faster. I've tried booting it with and without my gpus and I still get the same error. I've got a 1000 wat psu so I know its not that. Anyways one of the things that it does is boot up then about 5 seconds into the startup it shuts down and restarts. Still gets a "15" code at the bottom. Help I can't figure it out. I get no visuals btws.

I believe that the GD65 has a clrcmos or reset button on the motherboard itself to reset the bios. I would try that.

Actually, I just checked your manual, and it says "Early North Bridge Initialization".

Do you have any PCI Express graphics card or cards plugged into your slot?

I tried the cmos button. And nothing happened. And yes I meant "early North Bridge Initialization" noticed that there wasn't a jumper cap around where the internal cmos jumper can be found. Do I need one of those?

I removed everything from the PCI slots and now the debug led is going crazy. Its going from "10"-"15"-"55"

If it is a video card, try taking that out, and plugging the monitor into the onboard video adaptor.
I believe that the motherboard has an actual physical round button that you reset the bios with, around with the OC button is located. If that OC button is pressed in at the moment, un press it also.

Still nothing. The led debug codes are still changing around from 10,19,15,55

I put the gpu cards back and the debug led is still goin nuts.

Are you sure that you have all of the power plugs plugged into the motherboard? There should be two.
Also, is the cpu fan plugged into the cpufan1 header on the motherboard?

I tried that already. I have a corsair h100i on it and tried both slots.

Well, I might try to reseat the processor and reapply thermal paste.
I'm guessing that you have already tried reseating all of your ram sticks?
From what I can tell, the errors all seem to point to the cpu though, so I would def. reseat as mentioned above.

I'll try that again.

Figured it out. When I went to reseat it I noticed that there were a few pins bent in the CPU socket. Guess I get to go exchange it.

Dang that sucks. if they notice the bent pins, they probably won't let you exchange it.

It was new when I bought it. Sealed even.

good. however, they may still give you a problem, but hopefully not!!!
