MSI Forumn
Hello,
I have had a MSI GS60 Ghost Pro-064 laptop for a couple of years. It has always had major problems with drivers and things not working. Most importantly, the computer cannot detect the Nvidia GTX 970M graphics card. It does not show up in device manager, even when I select 'show hidden devices'. It doesn't seem to recognize it at all.
I have tried many things to fix it:
- Reinstalling all drivers and the BIOS from the MSI website.
- Running Nvidia Utilities and driver software (GeForce Experience etc)
- Completely wiping the computer with a fresh windows 8.1 install (once with internet connection and windows update allowed, once with internet off) as well as a clean windows 10 install.
- Taking it to computer repair people
- Running driver software (Iobit driver booster)
I have also followed all of the instructions on the following thread (along with many others): https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=283081.msg1603845#msg1603845 and http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2485239/gtx-970-detected-windows-card-put.html
None of this worked. Every time I go to run the NVidia Driver I get "the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" message. System Info from MSI Help Desk is attached.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers
