MSI GPU diagnostic LEDs?

Hey guys,

I just got a new MSI R6970 and the system won't boot and beeps a VGA error.

I notice that there is a strip of leds on the end of the GPU. Most of them are green but a few at the end are red. I'm hoping that these can point me in the right direction. I've searched all over but can't find out how to decode them. Any ideas?

Update: there are 14 LEDs and the last four are red.

Update2: I flipped the BIOS switch from 'Performance" mode to presumably normal mode and it now boots. The LEDs are staying the same.

Any ideas?

Update: I found that the bios switch was in a position that isn't supposed to work according to a FAQ i found. I switched it to the proper position and now all is good. woot!
