Hello,

I have a question for you guys, since i cant find any reviews comparing these two. I can buy both of these for nearly the same price - $5 more for Gigabyte one. And i'm wondering, which one should i go for?. MSI one is OC one while windforce is not gigabytes most OC GTX 960 but it has 4gb of vram. Im playing in 1080p.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Go for the gigabyte one. The 4gb of vram is very very helpful even at 1080 especially on games liek gta v. Factory overclocks arent much at all, and you should look up how to overclock(countless youtube tutorials) because it is very easy, especially on the 960 becuase it is so efficient and cool so it is near impossible to damage it from a program such as MSI afterburner. I have a question for you, Where are you getting this 4gb 960 so cheap? ive been looking for one, how much is it?

It's in polish shop. We have quite high prices if you compare them to USA ones, but gigabyte one is on discount so they both cost nearly the same. One thing that i'm worried about is that from what i heard gigabyte doesn't use the semi-passive technology (or whatever its called) what i mean is that fans go off when PC is in idle or up to XX degrees.

Yes it does use the fanless technology as i think all maxwell gpus do. they spin up at around 62 Celsius or 60w power draw i believe, something around that.

yes easily, and exceed it. factory overclocks are a very little overclock that they know will leave the gpu as efficient as possible, and as cool as possible, so they are very low overclocks. you will be able to go much higher than what the msi one comes with stock without even increasing your voltage probably.
