so i built my 1st computer i bought the msi gtx 970 and the evga supernova 750w g2. So my problem is im not sure on how many vga cables to use to power the gpu. So to power the 970 i'l need a 6 pin and 8 pin. so with the 8 pin i can use one vga cable which is 6+2 pin but im not sure with the 6 pin? should i use another vga cable or will i have to buy like some sort of adapter so it'll just run in one cable? i just dont wanna overpower the gpu. so uh yea, how many vga cable would i need to use? would really appreciate your help guys. thanks :)

For the 6 pin, you can leave the extra 2 pins out, it is designed as a 6+2 so it can be used for a 6 pin or an 8 pin. The 6+2 pin cable is fine for a 6 pin connector, you can just leave the extra pins out. I hope that answered your question, if not, let us know :)

So i added another cable of vga. Plug it in but when i turned my computer on apparently the monitor says no signal. But when i removed the cable i added, the monitor turned back on..

What could be the problem guys?

Could you take a picture of the back of the card and the inside of your pc showing the power cables please? :)

to be honest its odd the card works with just one pci-e cable odd for sure

you can look here at page 10

http://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce-gtx/GTX_970_User_Guide.pdf

page 4

http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/EVGA_Graphics_Manual_English.pdf

funny thing is I cant seem to complete the download of the manual from MSI to look over ?? or is there a online manual to get from a 3ed party site like manualowl or something ??

only other thing is are you sure your using the correct cables for graphics card use and plugged in to the back of the psu in the correct ports ?? don't confuse like a 8 pin motherboard cable and use in the card or what ever ??

page 7 you can see both pci-e cables are used ?
