MSI GTX 970 SLI Temperatures

Hey guys,
Looking for some advice here, I've finished all my stress tests and tinkering, and OCing with my build and everything has come out quite crispy and it has been everything I've ever dreamed of!!

Point aside there is a single "issue" that is bugging me and I'm curious to see what everyone else's input would be on this. So in my rig (Complete list is on my profile) I'm running Devil's Canyon with the MSI Twin Frozr V GTX 970 (4GB) in SLI. Now when I'm checking out my temperatures for each card my first card is in the first slot and it is idle at 28-30C now my Second card in the second slot is idle at 60C?? Why the huge temperature difference?

To give you some literal background on where my rig is for cooling purposes, it is raised off the carpet below my desk by a little wooden platform, that way my bottom fans can work properly. There is a vent from my house that is behind my rig, that is blowing a constant 20-22C. The fans in the back and top by said vent are set to Turbo and are in the "pull" orientation where as the single fan at the bottom and the two front fans are set on Turbo "push" trying to maximize air flow in somewhat of a reverse fashion.
This has worked tremendously well for keeping everything else in my case frosty at all times and even under full load I never had temperatures reach over 75C for my CPU for 6 full hours (although it is water cooled) likewise my GPUs have never reached a temp over 78C under full load for 6 full hours as well.

So is this just a case of me overthinking things? Or is there something that I am missing when it comes to this?

Well, the second slot is the one that's going to run hotter as a normal thing. That GPU is sucking up the hot air of the card in the first slot.

You may have two cards with different ASIC quality scores. GPUs with higher ASIC scores run cooler with less voltage. I'm assuming that's the one in slot 1. If so, you could switch the cards and the temperatures should even out a bit.

Check your ASIC scores with GPU-Z by right-clicking on the title bar and then select "Read ASIC quality...".
