I am planning on replacing my current GPU (MSI Twin Frozr R7850) with the popular MSI GTX 970 ( www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-970-4G-Graphics/dp/B00NN0GEXQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1434131696&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+970 ) I was just wondering whether my computer is compatible with this GPU and PSU.

Computer Specs:
Motherboard: Asus Intel P8H77-I Mini ITX Motherboard
PSU: Corsair CX Series 500 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 Plus Bronze
Case: BitFenix Prodigy Mini ITX Case
CPU: Intel i5-3470 Quad Core 3.2 GHz

Oh snap, i knew i was missing something. It is a Intel i5-3470 Quad Core 3.2 GHz

Thanks a ton. 😀

Could you link a good PSU? I thought that Corsair makes good PSU's? Also, it would need to be able to fit a Mini ITX case. Thanks.

Any about the one i specifically linked? I chose that one because of the lower power needed and it's the most popular GPU on amazon.

His PSU was so bad thats what caused it . He was also using a 9370. So no doubt the PSU caused that.

Evga 970s aren't the best mate, they had issues when released with the heat pipes and there cooling isn't all that great anyway, if you want a cool 970 that overclocks like a beast, then go with the msi 970 4g, it's a monster. Mine idles at 20-24c and reaches a max of 60c on games.

EVGA's 970 are actually one of the best cards. Not saying all of their cards are the best, but they are a monster in the NVIDIA sales. They had an issue with the heat pipe, but they have fixed it. Also, idle temps are based room temps so that isn't much of a comparison unless the ambient temps are consistent.
