I have read this only requires a 500w psu, which is what i have now, but my mboard only has pci 2.0
will my 500w psu and pci 2.0 be enough ?

Solution
GTX 970 can max out any title currently and is just about 10-15% less powerful than 980, but it also costs about 50% less, and tbh, I'd SLI two 970s for the price of single 980+$50. Will throw the 980 out of water perfomance wise, you'd need a 750W PSU though, EVGA B2 is a great quality value/money one :)
1. Not all 500w PSUs are created equal, what exact unit model do you have?

2. PCI-e 2.0 is not much of a bottleneck, but I have not seen any recent testing to support this. So it may have changed recently.

3. What CPU do you have?

4. The GTX970 is A LOT more value for money. The GTX980 is just 10% faster but costs 60%+ more.

Cool Master RS-500-PSAP-J3
i7 3770k 3.4Ghz

i want the 980 :) i dont mind spending more, unless you dont mind explaining the difference between them, i meed a better GPU for gaming, i spend alot of time on my games 😀

what kind of PSU will need ?

ok cool, 970 is good enough then, and the xfx pro 550w would be enough ? or shall i get higher and in time add another 970

Yes, I know.
More demand than production.
I asked the store and the salesman said that nVidia had problems with the production capacity.
I guess that I was lucky to be able to buy an MSI GTX 970 4G for me last week.
I tried to find one more for my brother and I can not find anything from MSI, eVGA, MSI, Gigabyte, etc. in my fav store.
The only one I can find is only Galax GTX 970 EX OC and I ordered it.
Galax is unfamiliar to me, I will see if it is also good.
