I was just wondering if it was ok to use two separate 8 pin modular power cables for the two separate 8 pin connectors on the GPU? My PSU is a Corsair AX860i.
It is always better to use two separate leads into your GPU. You never really need to but if you have the option I would use the two separate 8 pin connectors
Not for your PSU but some times it is a must if a PSU has multiple 12v rails and no single rail is enough for the PSU's requirements so you use 2 rails

So two separate cables from psu is completely safe?
